What is SICTED?
It is a project to improve the quality of tourist destinations promoted by the
Secretary of State for Tourism (SETUR), with the support of the Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces (FEMP).
The SCTE Destinos-SICTED is a methodology that provides a comprehensive and permanent quality management system in a tourist destination with a new conception of the expected results, a focus on continuous improvement and an attitude of recovery and enhancement of the resources and space.
Among other tools, it has 37 manuals of good practices, one for each trade. It offers the participating tourist services a training plan, technical assistance visits by approved advisors, collective workshops, work groups that develop improvement proposals for the destination and evaluations that contrast the adequacy of the tourist service to quality standards. All of this culminates in obtaining the distinctive Tourism Quality Commitment.
This is granted to tourist services that have proven compliance with the established requirements. It is a recognition of the effort and commitment to quality and continuous improvement, while distinguishing the tourist service from the competition. The badge is valid biennially, although it is conditional on an annual follow-up evaluation.
